Full Job Description
The Collections Agent is responsible for collecting all monies from patients and/or insurances by various legal manners involving court proceedings if delinquent accounts or not responsive. The Collections Agent is knowledgeable in court proceedings/documents. The agent will also provide assistance in other areas on an as-needed basis and has to be able to appear in court.
Paralegal experience is a huge plus and/or knowledge of legal terminology is preferred.
Candidates with Collections or Law educational background are preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answering some telephone calls
Daily communication with patients, clients & courts
Use of internet to access various sensitive and confidential information
Mailing out necessary documents to patients & courts
Assist with other assignments
Job Requirements:
Ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
Ability to handle multi-functions
Ability to efficiently and pleasantly communicate with patients, clients, court agents, and co-workers regardless of ethnic, religious, or economic status
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Ability to navigate on the computer, office software, and internet for business use
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Ability to understand insurance and billing terminology, as well as some medical terminology
Experience:
Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)

Medical collection: 1 year (Preferred)
